Comment: I have owned 4 new narrowboats, all good makes and can say Sabre are a rare company who really do understand how to build a narrowboat - I'll see you when I have funds for my next and last narrowboat. Congratulations (Paul I think I met you at Liverpool boats many years ago and was impressed by your superb fretwork ??)

Comment: We are the proud owners of Andromeda. We love our boat and still take great satisfaction in the quality of build. After sales service is second to none (even after 5 Years) Paul & Jim - keep up the good work!

Comment: Sixth Quarter, Now 6 months since she was launched, almost 400 Hours on the clock since the launch, all going well, just completed the Warwick ring at the weekend - had some further great comments on the boat - three comments on how good the paint job is and two on the "cat's paws" oak panneling interior. Let us know if any prospective customer of Sabre wants to look over her - moored at Ventnor Farm (a good marina now!) David & Sally

Comment: After deciding to have a bespoke narrowboat built, we spent several years visiting boat shows, looking at various boat builders. It was only Sabre who had the combination of fantastic workmanship and nice people - Paul & Jim.

We booked our build slot for our narrowboat Destiny two years in advance, and although she 'arrived' later than we hoped she was worth the wait. We cruised extensively, and everywhere we went we received compliments on how good Destiny looked.

As we were living on Destiny, a couple of years later we decided that we would like something a bit bigger - a Dutch Barge. Paul & Jim had no experience of building these, but were up for the challenge, and 2008 saw the arrival of Jasper, a beautiful 49' Dutch Barge, a totally unique boat. Paul & Jim were out of their comfort zone, but applied their magic none the less.

Jasper, is the awe of both plastic, sorry GRP boat owners and narrowboaters alike, people go out of their way to say how beautiful she is.

Any problems we have had, we know that we can call Paul & Jim anytime.

We do not expect to part with Jasper for many years, but if we were to commission another boat, we would always choose Sabre.

We wish Paul & Jim the continued success they deserve.

Comment:

For us it was a significant decision to choose the builder of our first narrowboat and after a canter around a variety of builders we were delighted to come across Jim and Paul at Sabre. We immediately hit it off with them, which proved to be an important part of the boat building project.

We had pretty clear ideas about what we wanted, but the input from Jim and Paul, along with their reassurance helped the boat take form. The quality of the build was extremely impressive as were the skills and know how that they brought to the task. Nothing was too much trouble and they responded to design requests as we went along.  It was great to work with people who have become trusted friends.

They took great pride in the launch, which went without a hitch, as did the accompanied cruise to our mooring in Grappenhall. Being so committed to the safe delivery of the boat they even returned to the mooring the following day to make sure the facilities were up to scratch – a great service, of which we are confident for the future.

We are delighted with our boat, Sandoy, in every respect and are proud to cruise the waterways in what we believe is a top class vessel. We know we made the right choice and are sure that if you go with Sabre, you will be pleased with a high quality build and great, detailed service.

Thanks again to Jim and Paul.

"Caraede" is now 10 years old this month and we wanted ti write to you both to say a big "thank you". We have spent many days, months, years cruising and we love the boat as much now as we did when it was new. You may be interested to know that there is nothing we would change with the layout. This is all credit to the way you worked with us to create the boat we wanted. It is still looking good and much admired.
